Many women love to knit and crochet, but anyone close to them who knows nothing about crocheting is hard pressed to find great gift ideas they’ll love. Well if you’re also looking for gift ideas to give a loved on in your life that crochets, here are some excellent suggestions for you…

1. Crochet Yarn - This may seem obvious and mundane… possibly even boring… but believe it or not most ladies who love to crochet are also completely addicted to yarn. They love trying different colors, textures and combinations for all sorts of crochet projects. So, yarn is the number one best gift idea for crochet lovers that’s always sure to be a hit.

If you’re not comfortable picking out yarn to give as a gift, then you can always resort to using a gift certificate instead. It’s not as much fun to give and not as much of a surprise to receive, but it’s a safe bet for making sure they get exactly what they want as the gift.

2. Baskets & Containers - Anyone who crochets always seems to have multiple projects in progress at once. And a popular way to keep materials together for one project without mixing everything up with another, is to put each project into it’s own separate basket, container or bag.

There are crochet specific carry bags and project centers you can buy, and these are always great gifts to give because not only do they hold yarn and projects in progress, many of them have special pockets for keeping the crochet pattern on hand, and additional crochet needles or other accessories that might be needed.

I personally love wicker and wood baskets. And my friends and family know this, so they’ve made a habit to give me misc gift baskets at Christmas. This way once I’ve used the soaps or candies or what have you, I have a nice new basket to use for another crochet project.

3. Crochet Patterns - Last but not least… and again this may seem like too obvious a gift idea… give your crochet lovers new patterns. Just as you can almost never have too much yarn when you love to crochet, it’s also close to impossible to have too many crochet patterns.

So pick up crochet patterns at craft stores, look for unique and antique patterns at flea markets, or try finding a crochet pattern club for them online.

4. Another gift is a yarn winder and a yarn swift.  These are two necessary items that people who knit need.  Most people who crochet also knit.  Find that crochet gift or knitting gifts now.

Hook & Yarn
I always recommend to hold the crochet hook and yarn in a way that is comfortable for you. There are suggested ways to hold the hook but you as long as you are getting like results, do what is…

No Crochet Love
No Crochet Love. It just occurred to me that my blog is supposed to be about crocheting, and lately all the projects I’ve posted have been needlework.

March is National Crochet Month
In this case it is a single crochet. The Crochet Golden Rule (in America) states that for single crochet stitches a single chain is equal to the height of a single crochet….

Scarves for Survivors
Pretty orange, cream and brown crocheted bag - just right for Spring! The bag is 8 inches wide, 6 inches high and has a 26 inch strap. It hasn’t photographed too well I’m afraid.

Springtime Crochet Bag
Well, here is my first attempt at crocheting anything more complicate than a scarf. It’s not from a pattern, I made it up, as if you can’t tell, lol! It’s all double crochet.

Crochet Spot
Joining the crochet community really inspired me to want to crochet for charity and encourage others to do the same. I put together a page that has links to.
